Bicycle Tour Mals - Müstair
Mals - Laatsch - Rifair - Taufers - Müstair
General description
Bicycle route from Mals via Taufers to Müstair in Switzerland
Route description
From Mals railway station, cycle to Laatsch, continue on the bike path along the brook "Rambach" and through the Calven forest to the little village Rifair and Taufers. In Taufers you can see the castle "Rotund" and "Reichenberg" on the mountain. Here you can also visit the church San John with the Romanic frescos. On the state road, cross the border into Switzerland and follow it to Müstair. Müstair is famous for the UNESCO world heritage monastery, Saint John and well worth a visit.
Cycle back along the same path to Mals, where the Etsch cycle routes "Via Claudia Augusta" leads to the Reschen Pass or Meran.

Cycling in Venosta Valley
With the period from March to late November offering ideal conditions for bike trips and excursions, the Vinschgau valley boasts the longest bike season in the Alpine region. Dedicated bike points also provide specialised cycling services, including bike shuttles across the entire valley, guided tours and professional advice. The Vinschgau also features a wonderfully effective bike hire network, with combined tickets enabling visitors to use public transport, hike bikes and even return them to different locations at no extra charge. And of course, dedicated bike hotels provide ideal accommodation for cycling enthusiasts.
