The traditional markets in the Venosta Valley take place on specific days of the year and represent a
social event for locals as well as visitors.
In the spring, a popular garden market is held in the small town of
Glorenza/Glurns and
the Londsproch market in
Coldrano/Goldrain. In Malles/Mals, the Georgimarkt market takes place in April,
the Garten- & Genussmarkt market in Castelbello/Kastelbell in May and
the Arcades Market of Glorenza in June.
The St. Veith market in Tarces/Tartsch and
the traditional St. Johann (Sonnta-Hons) market in Prato/Prad follow. Visitors should also not miss the gourmet market and
the famous Palabiramarkt market in Glorenza in September.
In the autumn the market series begins with
the Matthiasmarkt market in Prato.
The traditional Gollimorkt market in Malles takes place in October, which dates to the granting of permission by Catherine de Medici in the 16th century, as does
the traditional Lootscher Market in Laudes/Laatsch. Every year in November, the entire valley meets at
the Sealamorkt, the traditional All Souls’ market held
in Glorenza.
The Katharinamarkt takes place in the neighboring town
of Schluderns/Sluderno. A highlight of the upcoming Advent season is
the "Licht-Düfte-Klänge" Advent market in Glurns, but also
the high Alpine Christmas Market held in Val Martello.
