Guided Bunker Tours in Venosta Valley in South Tyrol
The Alpenwall: a stone symbol of time
The exhibition in the Bunker Complex number 20, located in the municipal area of Curon/Graun, tells the story of the military bunkers and the Alpenwall during the years 1936-1942. An extensive line of defence was created along the Resia/Reschen frontier as protection against an invasion from allied Germany. The defence line is still well preserved in the border village of Resia.
Visitors who are interested in history can visit the military structures of that period. They will find an impressive underground maze with illuminated displays. Also worth seeing are the deeply buried bunkers in Upper Venosta Valley. These monumental defences, architectural relics of the inter-war, can be viewed in guided hikes.
