Every year in August, the cultural festival "Marmor & Marillen"/"Marble & Apricots" takes place in Laas/Lasa in the Vinschgau valley – a unique event that brings together two distinctive aspects of the village: the prized apricots and the famous marble. The festival honors not only the history of marble extraction but also the craftsmanship of the stonemasons, which has significantly shaped Laas.

World-renowned and resilient: discover how the marble from Laas/Lasa is processed and quarried through an exciting film presentation followed by a guided tour. The visit continues at the master stonemason’s workshop of Mayr Josef, where you will hear fascinating stories about the “white gold” and witness masterful craftsmanship.
