The Fun Train Station in the Venosta Valley in South Tyrol
Thrills and spills at the old Stava railway station
"Full steam ahead!" is the motto at the fun Stava/Staben train station in Naturno/Naturns. Nestled between the towering cliffs above and a green valley below, this unusual playground stays open between 2 – 6 pm on Sundays from May to October. Spend an exciting afternoon playing among the scale model trains, electric and steam locomotives, a train carriage. There’s even an old hand-powered pump trolley, on which families can explore a 500m-long stretch of rail track. Guides are on hand to explain the workings of the miniature electric and coal-powered steam locomotives.
