Path no. 5 - "Waalrundweg" signs

General description

A loop trail with plenty to enjoy: farmland, orchards, woods, rest areas and 
mysterious Waaler rock paintings paired with breathtaking views over the ruins of 
Obermontani and Untermontani castles.

Route description
tart your hike behind IceForum in Latsch. Neuwaal trail #5 first takes you to the Magrinböden area. Continue toward Obermontani castle and follow the signs “Waalrundweg”. 
After a short descent, cross the street to proceed on Rautwaalweg on the opposite side 
of the mountain. Start your descent on the forest road above Morter, through the village 
and up to the main road. Cross the main road and continue to the Plimabrücke bridge. 
From here, return to your starting point on trail #5.
Description to arrive at destination
From the centre of Laces, follow the road in the direction of Tarres, at the AquaForum in Laces take the road to the right at the fork in the road, from there follow the road to the IceForum (large red roof). You can park your car directly at the IceForum.
Parking
You can park your car directly at the IceForum in Laces or at the sports field in Laces.
Public transport
From Meran or Mals you can take the train to Latsch. From the railway station you can take the bus number 269 to the AquaForum.
