Embark on a journey through time on a family-friendly Vinschgau valley hike: the Oberwaal trail dates back to 1348, offering scenic views of the Malser Haide UNESCO World Heritage site.

Route description
Embark on your irrigation channel hike near St. Michael church in Burgeis and follow the Sonnensteig trail (trail #17) through Malser Haide. After crossing "Planeiler" street, the Oberwaal winds its way up to the Solis refreshment hut high above Mals, opening up a breathtaking view of the upper Vinschgau valley. Navigate down Kührastweg trail to Mals. Follow the signs to “Mitterwaal” and continue to the historic village centre and the station.
