General description

A hike filled with cultural treasures and Vinschgau history: explore the Vuseum, the Ganglegg archaeological site, and the proud Churburg castle on this loop trail following the Leitenwaal and Berkwaal trails.

Route description

Start at the Vuseum, a venue dedicated to the irrigation channel paths, the Swabian children, and the Ganglegg settlements of the Bronze and Iron Ages. Follow trail #18 up to the Ganglegg archaeological site and continue on trail #17, Leitenwaal trail, above the site until you reach the impressive gorge. On the opposite side of the valley, Berkwaal trail leads down to Schluderns via Churburg castle, conveniently ending at the station.
