"Stabnerwaal" irrigation channel path

General description

The Stabner Waalweg trail is one of the most beautiful hikes at Sonnenberg mountain in Vinschgau valley. This family-friendly route pairs perfectly with a visit to Juval castle.
 

Route description

Start your hike at the Staben railway station. Cross the Etsch river at the bridge and follow the signs for trail #1 behind the church until you reach the trailhead. The Staben Waalweg trail continues towards the Himmelreich restaurant and the Tschars village centre. After a short descent, you reach Tschars railway station.
 

Description to arrive at destination

By car to Staben village. Cross the bridge there and then turn left towards the railway station.

Take the Venosta Valley railway from Merano or Malles to Staben station
