Skiing in Venosta Valley in South Tyrol

The longest ski seasons in South Tyrol

The high alpine skiing area of Solda/Sulden is open from late October to early May and extends with its fun park, slopes, and off-piste areas up to over 3,000 meters above sea level. It is considered one of the snowiest ski areas in South Tyrol. The Sulden cable car is one of the largest cable cars in the world, transporting skiers, snowboarders, and winter hikers directly to the ski area. The ski area, like the family-friendly Trafoi ski area, is located within the Stelvio National Park. Another family-friendly ski area in South Tyrol is the Watles ski area, situated in the Sesvenna group in the Upper Vinschgau Valley. With 18 kilometers of slopes, a 4-kilometer-long toboggan run, and the Slingia/Schlinig cross-country skiing center, Watles is the ideal area for a winter vacation with the family in South Tyrol. At the Resia Pass, the snow-sure ski area of Belpiano-Malga San Valentino/Schöneben-Haideralm is located, which attracts not only advanced skiers. Snowboarders and freestylers can expect a top-notch snowpark with numerous new challenges each year on 65 kilometers of slopes. In the glacier ski area of Alpin Arena Senales, the season starts as early as mid-September, with valley facilities opening in November. The perfectly groomed 42 kilometers of slopes lie between 2,000 and 3,200 meters in altitude and offer some challenging descents.
