Snowshoe hike to the Kanzel mountain station

From the valley station in Sulden/Solda to Kanzel mountain station.

General description

A hike from the civil defence centre in Sulden to the mountain station on Kanzel.

Route description

With the village of Sulden/Solda as your backdrop, you embark on a gentle ascent through pine forests, larch forests and Alpine pastures as you follow trail no. 12 to Kanzel mountain station. In this unique spot, you can enjoy South Tyrolean classics such as smoked ham, Schüttelbrot crispbread and Gewürztraminer wine while savouring the view of the Ortler, Zebru and Königsspitze mountains in all their glory.

Description to arrive at destination

From Spondinig/Spondigna via Stilfserjoch pass road SS 38 to Gomagoi, then left to Sulden.

Public car park at the Sulden cable car valley station.

Skiing at the foot of king Ortles
In the two ski areas Sulden and Trafoi, embedded in the breathtaking panorama of 14 three-thousanders, you can expect pure skiing pleasure from October to May. From 3,250 m to 1,900 m the highest of emotions: always in view the giants Ortler, Cevedale Königsspitze and Zebru.
