Webcam Trafoi | Ortler holiday region

Just 90 people live in the idyllic hamlet of Trafoi. Located 1,570 meters above sea level, the hamlet is a popular starting point for hikes in the high mountains or cycling on the Stelvio Pass Road. Trafoi’s remoteness, untouched natural landscape and more than 300 days of sun per year appeal not only to sporting visitors, but to ramblers and those seeking a relaxing stay. Trafoi is also known as a winter sports destination, with slopes of varying difficulty ending directly at the hotel door.

Webcam Stelvio Pass | Ortler holiday region

The winding mountain road leading to the Stelvio Pass is the highest pass road in Italy (at 2,758 m) and is considered one of the most impressive roads in the world, with its 48 bends on the South Tyrolean side. The 49 km long "Queen of the Alpine roads" was completed between 1820 and 1825 under adverse circumstances in record time.

Sulden is a glacier skiing area for experts and connoisseurs: it impresses with long downhill runs as well as a unique mountain panorama with views of the Ortler, the Königsspitze and other 12 three-thousand-meter peaks.

Webcam Stilfs / Stelvio | Ortler holiday region

The steeply sloping mountain village of Stelvio/Stilfs is the principal village of the Ortles holiday region. Nestled on the mountainside, the architecture of the village is typical of the Upper Venosta Valley’s Romanesque scattered villages. The terraced settlement was built in the 15th century by miners, who moved to Ortles in search of iron ore. The village is characterized by small, crooked, skyward-leaning houses and narrow alleys. Stelvio is located in the center of the Stelvio National Park, the largest conservation area in Italy.
