Haflinger 2024 Festival - 150th anniversary of the Haflinger breed
Folk festivals/festivals
Schluderns / Sluderno
It all began here: in 1874 in Sluderno/Schluderns, in the Venosta/Vinschgau valley. And in 2024 – our anniversary year – we return to the roots of the Haflinger breed.
In 1874, at the farm of breeder Josef Folie, a truly special colt was born: 249 Folie – the very first Haflinger and founder of the breed. Since then, Haflingers have conquered the globe: Friendly, high-performing and charming, they are now bred all over the world as ideal partners for sport, leisure, therapeutic riding or work.
In 2024, we celebrate 150 years of Haflinger breeding in South Tyrol as well as the Provincial Federation of South Tyrol Haflinger Horse Breeders’ 70th anniversary.
In Sluderno/Schluderns, South Tyrol – where it all began.
