Pala pear days in the Venosta Valley
Already in the days leading up to it, the entire town life revolves around this historic fruit variety: cultural evenings and music in the hall, lectures, excursions, cookery courses and a market are intended to emphasise the value of this rare fruit in addition to the purely gastronomic aspect.
PROGRAMME:
MARKET DAY WITH REGIONAL PRODUCTS
Saturday, 07.09.2024 - 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
At the themed market in Glurns, you will find a unique assortment
of products related to the tasty and above all healthy pear variety.
Pala pear dishes are prepared in the ‘Schaller’ courtyard under the arcades. The Glurns theatre group stages Pala pear sketches - musical accompaniment with Sophia Sagmeister and Maria Dangl.

To all lovers of South Tyrolean cuisine: On Thursday 12.09. we offer a live cooking show in the ‘Glurns Festival’ festival area. At the centre of attraction will be South Tyrolean cuisine, especially that of the Pala pear, our local producers, restaurants and great personalities, who will present culinary delights for you from around 4 p.m. onwards. The culinary show will be accompanied by live music and numerous stalls that will create an impressive atmosphere. With the subsequent tasting, the entertaining culinary show leaves nothing to be desired!

Pala pear Sunday concludes the Pala pear days in
Glurns. For many years, the event has been organised with great success by the
volunteer fire brigade of Glurns. After the Holy Mass and the procession, people meet at the new festival area ‘Glurns Festival’ to celebrate the harvest of the Pala pear.
Musical entertainment with the Glurns music band and the ‘Karerbrass’ band. The kitchen awaits you with traditional Pala pear dishes. Children's programme available.
