Monte Sole mountain Laas

General description

Spring and autumn are the ideal times for this hike. From the sports ground in Lasa/Laas, walk along the dry Lasa Leitenwaal canals (Laaser Leiten) to the mountain village of Tanas. From here hikers can enjoy unique panoramic views of the valley basin and the Ortler range on the opposite side.

This hike is normally snow-free, with gorgeous views of the Laaser Tal valley, the marble quarry and the incline railway.

Route description

From the sports pitch in Lasa passing eastward along the Lasa Sun Mountain hill, over the “Loretz ground” until Alliz. Return by the same route.

Description to arrive at destination

Coming from Reschen or Meran to the sports field on the state road in Laas.

Parking

The car can be parked at the sports field parking place.

Public transport

By the Venosta train to Laas, from there continue on foot to the sports field (ca. 20 minutes).

The Lasa Bus
The mountain village of Tanas is the starting point of the Tanas Reflection Trail (Besinnungsweg Tana) as well as forming a popular stage of the Venosta High Mountain Trail. The citybus line connects Lasa/Laas to Cengles/Tschengls and to Tanas four times daily.
