Bicycle Tour of museums
General description
Discover numerous sights and museums of Upper Vinschgau by bike.
Route description
From Mals train station you go to the village center of Mals and from there past the St. Benedict church, along the bike path to Schleis. The route continues through the village to Laatsch, where the local history museum is located. The route continues to Glurns. There you can visit the Tauferer Torturm with the Paul Flora exhibition, the museum in the Schludernser Torturm and the whisky distillery Puni. From Glurns you take the Sölesweg (Jakobsweg) past the Jakobskapelle (Chapel of St. James) and via the old Prader Straße you reach Lichtenberg, where you can also visit the ruins of Lichtenberg Castle. Via the old road of Prad you also reach Prad am Stilfser Joch, where the visitor center Aquaprad is located. On the way back, the route takes you via the Prader fishing ponds to Schluderns to the Vintschger Museum (Museum of Vinschgau). To get back to the starting point, you ride along the old Vinschgau cycle path to the reservoir in Schluderns and along the current cycle path again to Glurns. The route continues through the Malser Tor. After the parking lot turn left in the direction of Laatsch. At the fire station in Laatsch keep to the right and take the cycle path back to the train station in Mals.

Cycling in Venosta Valley
With the period from March to late November offering ideal conditions for bike trips and excursions, the Vinschgau valley boasts the longest bike season in the Alpine region. Dedicated bike points also provide specialised cycling services, including bike shuttles across the entire valley, guided tours and professional advice. The Vinschgau also features a wonderfully effective bike hire network, with combined tickets enabling visitors to use public transport, hike bikes and even return them to different locations at no extra charge. And of course, dedicated bike hotels provide ideal accommodation for cycling enthusiasts.
