Tour to gorge Uina

Mals - Schlinig - gorge Uina - Sur-En - Martina - Nobertshöhe - Nauders - Reschen - St. Valentin - Burgeis - Mals

General description

The physically demanding well-known tour for those who are free from giddiness through the tripoint.

Route description
This tour starts from the railway station in Mals and follows the old footsteps of the smugglers along the cycle path to Burgeis and up the provincial road to Schlinig (1.725 m). Following the forest path via "Polsterhof" is another way to reach Schlinig. Take the left side of the valley and reach the Alp of Schlinig, after which there will be a quite strenuous ascent to the refuge Sesvenna (2.256 m). Only very few people manage this without getting off their bikes. From the hut, the trail fun begins on the Swiss side. The beautiful trail winds its way to the Schlinig Pass, 100 m higher up, before the descent leads to Uina ravine and makes biker hearts beat faster. The ravine looks overwhelming but also a little scary. Descending and pushing is the top priority here. At the end of the ravine, a beautiful 8.5 km descent is waiting to Sur En, then turn right and follow the Inn downstream on the cycle path to Martina (1.050 m). The climb into the Austrian village Nauders occurs along the pass road "Norbertshöhe" (1.405 m). The tour leads down along the cycle path to the Reschen Pass in Italy and on to Graun with the famous tower in the Reschen Lake. A stop here and an ice cream is definitely tempting. Follow the cycle path, along the west side of lake "Haidersee" and via Burgeis to return to Mals.

Tip:Overnight stay at the refuge Sesvena
