The Watles hiking and skiing area in the Upper Venosta Valley is well- known to winter athletes. In summer, the Watles Adventure Mountain above Burgusio/Burgeis and Malles/Mals turns into an ideal starting point for hiking along well-signposted trails, with breathtaking views over the Upper Venosta Valley and of the surrounding mountain peaks. The newest and latest lifts and cable cars, such as the chairlift at Prämajur, allow hiking and mountain biking enthusiasts to quickly and easily reach the heart of this recreational area, located at 2,150 m above sea level. Those who want to enjoy a relaxed day's journey in the Watles area without spending time looking for a parking place can also make use of our hiking taxi and the city bus.
Throughout the entire Watles area, all of the trails are particularly suited to families. These trails are embedded in the natural landscape of the Alpine Sesvenna mountain group. Even those less familiar with the world of mountaineering have the opportunity to seek an unforgettable experience in the high Alpine nature. Next to the chairlift mountain station is a large playground for children, with a new "adventure lake" awaiting them with countless other attractions, such as the 3D archery location for bow and arrow enthusiasts. Here, enthusiasts can demonstrate their skills in two different settings.
The Spielesee Adventure Lake
Amidst the expansive hiking area of Watles, there is the 1,500 m² Spielesee – an artificial lake for children, designed as an exciting adventure playground for little ones and families.
The Watles ski area in the sunny Upper Venosta Valley provides skiers with excellent infrastructure, groomed slopes, huts with sun terraces and the toboggan run on the Watles provides two-railed fun for everyone.
