General description
Mountainbiketour to the alp and the top of the Glurns mountain (2.395 m)
Route description
Leave the medieval town Glurns through the "Tauferer Tor" through the southern town gate. Pass the parish church of St. Pankrazius, cross the road and take the "Treiweg" path. After a few hundred metres, turn in the direction of the little St. Martin's church and climb up left the pleasantly laid-out alpine trail up to 1.978 metres. After a little more than 1.000 metres of altitude through the shady forest a magnificent panorama opens up at the unattended Glurnser Alp and the view of the "Glurnser Köpfl" overlooks the alpine pastures. Relax in front of the hut with a homemade "marend".
The trail continues along the forest path towards the Vinschgau Valley meadows.
Back in Glurns, it is obligatory to enjoy a homemade ice cream from the guest house "Zum Grünen Baum" on the town square. You can also indulge
in culinary delights at the Flurin Restaurant, which was the former prison and justice hall.
Tip: A hike to the 2.339 m high "Glurnser Köpfl" is worthwhile one of the best views of the region and the wonderfully white glittering Ortler massif awaits you here.
