General description
Since 2023, a magnificent summit cross has stood at the peak of the so-called Litzer House. A beautiful circular hike guarantees hiking fun and scenic highlights.
Tip: The hike to the Litzer House can be extended to the Litzer Lakes.
Route description
By car, drive along the road towards Tanas-Tröghöfe and later follow the forest road to Strimmhof (limited parking available). At Strimmhof (1,745 m), go steadily uphill through meadows and spruce forest until trail number 19 crosses the forest road leading to Litzer Alm. Continue on the alpine trail to the idyllically and beautifully situated Litzer Alm (not serviced). From there, continue into the valley and ascend in many switchbacks on the left to the shepherd's hut and a valley floor, always following the well-marked trail number 19 towards Litzer Lakes. As you head further into the valley, you will repeatedly overcome small inclines until a wooden sign marks the turnoff to the "Litzer House." Hikers then follow the cairns that indicate the path to the summit.
For the return journey, a circular route is recommended. Follow trail 19B down the "ridge" to Edelweißböden and Schafknott. Then cross the wooden bridge and follow the trail back out of the valley towards Litzer Alm.
Description to arrive at destination
