The observatory at the
Maseben mountain hut, situated in the idyllic
Langtaufers valley at 2,267 meters above sea level, offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of the night sky and the sun. With the two telescopes, you can go into the
deepness of the universe and you can see pictures that you would never see otherwise.
The observatory at Maseben is the
first and only one in the west of South Tyrol and can be reached by foot from Kappl (approx. 2 hours walking time, 450 meters altitude difference).
The astronomer Norbert Span has taken care of the project and is happy about the excellent conditions at Maseben: "Due to the light pollution, we have lost much of the night sky over Europe. But at Maseben you can observe and photograph the night sky without disturbance.
