Venosta Valley is home to a vibrant and well-known scene of contemporary architects. Pioneers of form and design such as
Walter Dietl, Werner Tscholl, and
Arnold Gapp provided a start to the good reputation of Venosta Valley architects and architectural sites created here, which attract an international following.
But Venosta Valley is also a valley of
artists,
stonemasons and sculptors. Ultimately, the
Johannes Steinhäuser school for stonecarving in Lasa/Laas has contributed to this. Every two years in the marble village of Lasa, the highly acclaimed
Franz Tumler Literature Prize is also awarded.
