The Upper Venosta Valley offers
hikers and mountain climbers trails with splendid views, in all degrees of elevation and difficulty. Families and leisure hikers can walk along the
irrigation channel paths or along the
360° panoramic trail through the highlands, or use the
cable car to more easily reach the
sunny trails on the
Watles. Family-friendly routes lead from the upper station to
Höferalm Alpine pasture or to the
Pfaffensee lake.
Hikers can also learn many new and interesting facts about the region on
theme trails like the “Sonnensteig”, which runs from Burgusio/Burgeis to Spondignia/Sponding. More challenging are the
high mountain trails, such as the routes over the
Spitzige Lun, the
Glurnser Köpfl or the
Tellakopf mountains, to a scenic summit at the entrance to the Münstertal Valley. Multi-day hikes, like the
Venosta Valley High Mountain trail, which combines gentle and spectacular stages over 100 kilometres, are especially impressive.
