In Prato allo Stelvio/Prad am Stilfserjoch, art and culture seamlessly coexist with traditional life.
Customs of pagan origin – originally Christianized and in this manner conserved – are cultivated in the Venosta Valley through the present day.

Winter banishments and noisy rituals such as Goaßlschnöllen, Zusslrennen and Maschgertanz are very popular.
No less fascinating are the various customs during Advent in December. The wild antics of the Krampus and the St. Nicholas parades are folk festivals that help pass the time for children waiting for Christmas. In June, the Sacred Heart of Jesus fires on the mountains, visible from afar, are a spectacle for locals and guests alike.
